Grace M. Alexander

Grace M. Alexander is a violinist, collaborator, musical leader, arts administrator, photographer, and forest conservationist. Currently based in Vancouver, BC Canada, she is passionate about creating thoughtful, musical, and creative experiences for people of all backgrounds and interests. Growing up between Santa Monica, CA and Plains, MT, nature has always been a centerpiece of her creative inspiration. Grace aims to integrate the natural world into all artistic avenues of her life. In addition to her career as an artist, she continues the work alongside her family in rural forest health, conservation, and habitat management in Northwest Montana, U.S.A.

Commissioned by the Open Space Authority from composer William Rand, “Coyote Valley Suite” features five short instrumental works that carry the listener through the protected landscapes of Coyote Valley, one of the last largely undeveloped valley floors in the South Bay. Performed by Will Rand (piano), Grace M. Alexander (violin), and Aireleen Zhu (cello).

This unique artistic project invites people everywhere to connect with and be inspired by the majesty of the Coyote Valley landscapes and to reflect on the many benefits that result from conserving the natural environment for all.

As musician, development assistant, and photographer for the Við Djúpið Music Festival in Ísafjörður, Iceland — Grace’s photos were recently published in Forbes Online Magazine. The article, ‘Why This Icelandic Music Festival Should Be Your Next Wellness Retreat’ by Anna Haines, was released on February 27, 2025 and features photography from the 2024 Festival that Grace captured.
